Pulling away from the bay was like feeling yourself waking up from a dream; one you aren’t ready to let go of & even if you do get back, you know it will probably be different each time. It hardly felt real, looking out over the water at such mesmerizing scenes. We could travel another million miles around the globe & never find a spot quiet like this one.

The Andaman Islands are easily one of the top islands we’ve ever been to & we like islands a lot, so that’s saying something. Their exotic nature & lack of history in heavy tourism make them incredibly remote, under developed (for now), & boast some of the best beaches in Asia.

Read MoreIn the evening sunlight, elephants lazily bathed themselves in the river as huge white dandelion-like clusters fell like snowflakes from the silk cotton trees above. As if we had drifted off into a dream, never had I envisioned writing alongside a watery marsh while children from the town laughed & splashed in their underwear, diving in & out of the river when they should have been bringing in the days fishing lines. It felt worlds apart from how we had arrived at our destination….

Even after all his exhaustive adventures in Langtang, he was willing (& excited) to head back out onto the treks & show me around Nepal. Don’t worry, he made sure to fit in a restorative beach trip in Goa between the mighty mountain conquering, but it was still no easy feat. Not that I had been laying around eating bonbons for weeks mind you, I am pretty sure when my yoga masters advised us to take a week or two off to rest the body, a 7-day mountain trek was not what they had in mind. Nevertheless, we were off again!
